Prosecutors specify that, on that evening, the deputy was guarding a flock of sheep.

In this context, he intentionally and without right allowed the sheep to graze for approximately 30 minutes on a crop of alfalfa and clover on a land that did not belong to him, causing "damage in the amount of 5,000 lei (1,000 euros) representing the lack of specific nutrient for the first spring harvest (approximately 30 bales of alfalfa, weighing approximately 400 kg each, at a price of approximately 200 lei per bale)."

Prosecutors did not disclose the deputy's name in the cited statement, but official sources told G4Media that it is Ciprian Ciubuc.

The Prosecutor's Office mentions that the defendant, as a deputy, benefits from parliamentary immunity for political opinions. However, deputies can be prosecuted and brought to criminal trial for acts unrelated to the votes or political opinions expressed in the exercise of their mandate.
