Former independent pro-russian candidate Călin Georgescu threatens the judges of the Romanian Constitutional Court for the decision to cancel the presidential elections, asking them to rectify their mistake.
„Ladies and gentlemen judges of the Constitutional Court, have you violated your oath? By what you decided on December 6, did you not swear falsely? Do you want God to help you – as the magistrates’ oath says!? Then correct your mistake so that people can have trust in the righteousness of the institutions, otherwise you will find no refuge even in hell!
I warn you that you risk paying for the annulled votes with heavy years of prison - and do not forget that no one is above the law, not even you, especially you, who should have protected the law, not unfairly condemned it!," says Călin Georgescu in a post on his Facebook page.
He urges the judges of the Constitutional Court to reconsider the "wrong" decision and to rectify "immediately the injustice created for this people."
"God is only one, do you not consider yourselves His equals!" he says, in the message's conclusion.
The Coalition for the Defense of the Rule of Law and Călin Georgescu have initiated legal action against the Central Electoral Bureau and several state institutions for the annulment of the elections.
The High Court of Cassation and Justice referred the case to the Bucharest Court of Appeal for trial on Monday.
