Ukraine accuses Călin Georgescu of having "masters in Moscow": The expressed theses are completely identical to those of Russian propaganda

The statements made by Călin Georgescu, questioning the territorial integrity of Ukraine, are a manifestation of profound disrespect towards this country and the Ukrainian people, emphasizes Heorhii Tîkhîi, the spokesperson of the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He accuses the Romanian politician of having „masters in Moscow.”

Tîkhîi deems unacceptable the statements that Călin Georgescu made in an interview with Ion Cristoiu, where he said, among other things, that Ukraine is an artificial state and that its territory will be divided into several pieces, with some parts returning to Romania.

"We condemn revisionist statements or actions that violate the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, contravening international norms, the UN Charter, and fundamental democratic values," states in a statement published on the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs website.

"The context of these statements, Călin Georgescu's attempts to position himself as an 'independent' politician are absurd: the ideas he expressed are completely identical to those of Russian propaganda, indicating a total dependency on his masters in Moscow," specifies the spokesperson of the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

"We are convinced that it is in the interest of Romania and the Romanian people to achieve comprehensive, fair, and lasting peace in the neighboring country, Ukraine, and the development of our states in peace, security, and prosperity for both peoples. We remind that such development is not part of the Kremlin's and its proxies' plans.

We appreciate that Romania and the Romanian people have firmly supported Ukraine since the beginning of Russia's large-scale war against our country. We anticipate further development of the Romanian-Ukrainian friendship relations, characterized by a strategic partnership, for the benefit of both peoples," added Heorhii Tîkhîi.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also reacted after Georgescu's statements about Ukraine were picked up by the press in Kiev and Romania.

"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs firmly reiterates its strong position in support of the sovereignty, territorial integrity, and independence of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders. This position is clear and rooted in international law, national interest, and a long-term foreign policy based on values," as stated in the message posted on X by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
