Donald Trump has threatened to send Mark Zuckerberg to jail if the Facebook founder attempts to influence the 2024 presidential elections, according to a statement from his new book, „Save America.”
Donald Trump has threatened Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg with „life imprisonment” if he tries to influence the 2024 presidential elections, Sky News reports.
In a new book titled Save America, which includes photos and anecdotes from his presidential campaigns and presidency, Trump claims that Zuckerberg could use his influence unfairly.
Trump refers to a previous meeting with Zuckerberg at the White House, adding that despite apparent goodwill, Zuckerberg was involved in a "shameful plan" against him.
This "plan," Trump alleges, is linked to donations of over $400 million made by Zuckerberg and his wife, Priscilla Chan, to electoral offices in 2020, especially in districts that favor Democrats.
Indeed, the donations have been contested by Republican politicians, who have deemed them a way to influence mail-in voting during the coronavirus pandemic.
Trump and his supporters have repeatedly accused these donations of contributing to his loss in the 2020 elections.
In his book, Trump states: "We are closely monitoring him, and if he does anything illegal, he will spend the rest of his life in prison, alongside others who cheat in the 2024 presidential elections."
