The Tate brothers, who were recently filmed feeding a bear from their car on the side of the road, were fined 1,500 lei each.
The Romanian Ministry of Environment announced on Thursday, explaining that Romanian legislation prohibits feeding wild animals. Additionally, feeding bears alters their behavior, putting those who do so in serious danger.
Andrew Tate posted a 29-second clip on X network (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday, showing how, in a red car, he feeds a bear on the side of the road.
”Bear, bear”, he shouts at the animal.
His brother, Tristan Tate, posted a 16-second clip on the same network, along with the message: ”What kind of dog is this?!”
The Ministry of Environment announced on Thursday that the two were fined.
”Following the recently published images in the public space, in which two citizens can be seen intentionally feeding a bear through the vehicle's window, the Ploieşti Forest Guard took action and applied a fine of 1,500 lei to each violator.
We remind that feeding wild specimens is strictly prohibited by Romanian legislation. Through such actions, citizens expose themselves or their companions to major risks.
At the same time, feeding bear specimens alters their behavior, making them more tolerant of human presence. Such specimens inevitably become the target of intervention actions,” officials from the Ministry of Environment transmitted.
They announce that such actions will continue.
”To avoid serious consequences attacks, to protect the species, and to avoid administrative fines, we call on all citizens to refrain from feeding bears or other wild animals,” the Ministry of Environment further conveyed.
