The government has declassified the amounts paid to rent planes from Tarom for the official visits of Prime Ministers Nicolae Ciucă and Marcel Ciolacu in recent years.

In total, between December 2021 and February 2025, TAROM received nearly 4 million lei from the government for 11 charter flights intended for the official travels of the two prime ministers, averaging 362,889 lei per trip.

According to BoardingPass, Nicolae Ciucă chose Tarom planes for nine official visits, conducted between December 2021 and March 2023, in Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East.

The bill for renting planes from the state airline is nearly 2.65 million lei. In addition to these irregular flights, the former prime minister also used military planes four times for official visits to Greece, Bulgaria, and the Republic of Moldova.

In the case of Marcel Ciolacu, between June 2023 and February 2025, he made 21 official visits outside Romania, with 11 of them being provided with planes from the Romanian Air Force.

For eight other trips, regular flights were used, and Tarom planes were rented only twice: in the United Arab Emirates and Qatar – 917,113.68 lei, and Turkey – 432,278.44 lei.
