Interim President Ilie Bolojan has convened a meeting of the Supreme Council of National Defense, which will take place on March 28, at 12:00, at Cotroceni Palace, announced the Presidential Administration on Friday.
This is the first CSAT meeting since Ilie Bolojan assumed the interim presidency of Romania.
The agenda of the meeting includes topics related to:
- The status and prospects of the conflict in Ukraine following the illegal and unjustified aggression of the Russian Federation. Implications for Romania;
- Romania's positioning in the context of the negotiation process regarding the resolution of the conflict between the Russian Federation and Ukraine;
- Report on the activities carried out by the institutions with responsibilities in the field of national security in 2024 and the main objectives for 2025;
- The report of the Supreme Council of National Defense on the activities carried out in 2024.
"During the Council meeting, other current topics in the field of national security will also be analyzed," the Presidential Administration specifies.
Asked on March 6 if he would convene the CSAT on the topic of canceling the elections, as requested by the Prime Minister, Ilie Bolojan explained that a CSAT meeting will be convened in the first quarter of this year, but not for canceling the elections.
"So far, there is no additional element that would lead to such a convocation," explained the interim president at that time.
