There is talk again about the possibility of Ianis Hagi being forgiven and brought back into the first team squad by coach Philippe Clement.
Ianis Hagi is being requested back, for how many times now, by Scottish journalists in Glasgow, after Rangers lost another key player from the squad. Colombian Oscar Cortes, got injured during training. Additionally, another competitor for Hagi’s position, Welshman Rabbi Matondo, suffered a muscle tear.
Cortes, the right winger, sustained an injury during training, diagnosed with a severe contusion, after Matondo, the left winger, suffered a muscle tear and will be out for the entire month of October.
"There is an obviously painful solution for the club: Ianis Hagi. A midfield trio of Cerny-Bajrami-Hagi would be balanced, technically proficient, and capable of good numbers. Clement has certainly not overlooked Hagi's last two goals scored for the B team. The fact that he scores by penetrating towards the center and finishing with his left foot is exactly what Clement is asking Ross McCausland to practice more. Why not choose a player who is already doing this?" noted editorialist Gavin Kelly for Rangers News.
Hagi was sent to the reserve team also for financial reasons. If he had played one more match, according to the contract, his salary would have had to be increased by 7000 euros. The son of Gică Hagi has played 99 matches in Scotland, scoring 16 times.
