The Scottish press analyzed Ianis Hagi for his performance in the match against Belgium at EURO 2024

Romania was defeated by Belgium in the EURO 2024, with a score of 0-2, and Ianis Hagi managed to play for a few dozen minutes in the second half of the game in Cologne.

Ianis Hagi (25 years old) started on the bench in the match between Belgium and Romania, which ended 2-0, in the second round of Group E at EURO 2024, after also coming on in the second half of the match against Ukraine.

Hagi replaced Mihăilă in the 68th minute, but did not shine, failing to complete any offensive play. The performance of the Romanian international was analyzed by the Scottish press: "Despite a poor season in the Alaves shirt (where he was loaned for a season), the Rangers player caused panic in Belgium's defense and even finished the match with a torn shirt, while the Belgian defenders desperately tried to stop him," noted those at Ibroxnews.

"Ianis Hagi was brilliant once he stepped on the field," also stated Ally McCoist (61 years old), a former Scottish footballer with 89 appearances for Rangers.

In the 22 minutes on the field, Ianis Hagi had 25 touches, completed 16 out of 18 attempted passes, was fouled once, and attempted two crosses.

It remains to be seen if Hagi will be fielded at least in the third group stage match against Slovakia, a crucial game for reaching the EURO 2024 knockout stage, on Wednesday at 19:00, LIVE on SpotMedia.ro.
