The French press writes about the possible transfer of Louis Munteanu (23 years old), the striker of CFR Cluj, to Olympique Lyon.
After missing out on a significant transfer in the summer, Munteanu could leave CFR Cluj in 2026, with the opening of a new transfer window. Olympique Lyon is one of the teams interested in his signature, and the French press wonders whether the team from the „Hexagon” can afford to pay 10 million euros, the amount requested by CFR Cluj in exchange for him.
"Louis Munteanu, a serious target, but at 10 million euros. Lyon's leaders know what to expect. It remains unknown: can Lyon afford such a sum in January? (…) It is necessary to establish whether OL will sign him permanently or loan him, a more flexible solution, given the financial context.
The club's finances are limited. However, the sale of Sael Kumbedi to Wolfsburg for eight million euros would bring money to the club, enough to revive certain "targets."
