Simona Halep (34 years old) made a statement full of sincerity in the foreign press.
In an interview she gave to The National, Simona revealed that she has no regrets after ending her playing career and that she accepts every mistake she has made.
The former world number one said, "Tennis has never done me wrong" and that she is proud of how she managed the failures and successes she experienced.
"Tennis has never done me wrong. It has only brought me good things. (...) I have no regrets and I take responsibility for and accept every mistake I have made. Also, I am proud of all the good things I have done. I can say that I am proud of many things, but most of all of how I managed the failures and successes," stated Simona Halep.
Simona Halep ended her career in February 2025, in Cluj-Napoca, after being defeated by Lucia Bronzetti.
Suspended for doping in 2022, Simona returned to the court in 2024, but managed to win only one match, against Arina Rodionova in Hong Kong.
