Simona Halep (32 years old) has received a new wildcard, following the one offered by the organizers of the Miami Open.
The organizers of the Madrid tournament have offered Simona Halep a wildcard to participate in this year’s edition, which our athlete has accepted.
Alongside Simona Halep, Caroline Wozniacki, Martin Landaluce, and Kei Nishikori have also received wildcards to participate in the Madrid tournament.
The Madrid tournament takes place from April 23 to May 5.
The Madrid tournament is the second one in which Simona Halep will participate with a wildcard after her suspension for doping, following her elimination by Paula Badosa in the first round of the Miami Open.
Simona has achieved good results over time in Madrid, becoming champion in the 2015 and 2016 editions. In 2014 and 2019, Simona reached the final, where she lost in the last match.
