The Romanian national team is plummeting in the FIFA rankings after the last 3 defeats in the Nations League, the latest being a memorable 0-6 loss against Poland.
Statistically speaking, with Gică Hagi as the coach, the „tricolorii” have reached their lowest FIFA ranking of all time.
These recent three defeats, 1-2 against Sweden, 2-4 against Bosnia, and 0-6 against Poland, have placed Romania in 57th place in the FIFA rankings, below countries such as Chile, Costa Rica, or Saudi Arabia.
The previous historical low was in 2011 when the team reached 56th place in the world.
Furthermore, it is worth mentioning that Romania had not suffered a 6-goal difference defeat since 1967, since the notorious 1-7 against Switzerland on May 24. Another defeat by such a margin was recorded by Romania on November 1, 1962, when it was defeated 6-0 by Spain.
