Romania secured its second medal on Saturday morning at the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games, following the gold won on Friday by Alex Bologa in judo.
The Romanian delegation claimed a bronze medal through athlete Camelia Ciripan, who clinched bronze in para table tennis at the Paris Paralympic Games.
In the semifinal held on Saturday in the capital of France, Camelia Ciripan displayed a courageous performance but was defeated by the Ukrainian athlete, M. Lytovchenko, with a score of 3-0 (11-5, 11-7, 11-5).
This is Camelia's first medal in her very first participation at the Paralympic Games.
Romania also proudly boasts the gold won by Florin Alexandru Bologa in the judo event for visually impaired athletes in Paris. In Friday's final, Alex defeated Kazakh athlete Yergali Shamey by ippon in the 73-kilogram category.
Also on Saturday, Theodor Matican will enter the arena at the Paralympic Games in the road race event for para cycling, starting at 1:45 PM.
