What role Bolojan reserved for Oana Gheorghiu in the Government: No one donates millions of euros to a project they do not believe in

Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan welcomed Oana Gheorghiu’s entry into the government team at the beginning of Thursday’s Executive meeting.

„I want to extend a warm welcome to Oana Gheorghiu and thank her for accepting to be part of the government team,” Bolojan stated.

He emphasized that she will play an important role in coordinating reforms in public administration, especially in the areas of digitalization, simplification, and bureaucracy reduction.

The Prime Minister added that the trust shown by the founder of the "Dăruiește Viață" Association is a guarantee of her seriousness and her ability to manage complex projects. "I hope that the experience she has gained in recent years and the trust she has shown - because no one donates millions of euros to a project they do not believe in - will also be transferred to the governmental level (...). I hope for her contribution to the outcome of our team's efforts. Good luck in the upcoming period!" Bolojan further stated.

Oana Gheorghiu took the oath for the position of deputy prime minister on Thursday, during a ceremony held at Cotroceni Palace, attended by Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan and several presidential advisers, including Ludovic Orban.

Absent from the event were the President of the Chamber of Deputies, Sorin Grindeanu, and the President of the Senate, Mircea Abrudean. Grindeanu publicly announced that he was not invited to the ceremony. He is the one who previously contested Oana Gheorghiu's nomination and requested the withdrawal of the proposal "to avoid a diplomatic disaster" in the relationship with the United States.
