Over a thousand people, supporters of Călin Georgescu, are protesting on Friday in front of the Parliament, where the Constitutional Court is located. The demonstrators are demanding the resumption of the second round of the presidential elections.
The participants came following a call made by Călin Georgescu on social networks under the name ‘MareaUnireJuridică’ (Great Legal Union).
UPDATE: The Constitutional Court of Romania (CCR) received on Friday the request submitted by Călin Georgescu's lawyers, but other requests, demands, or petitions can be sent during the day by mail or email, announced the CCR.
The protesters have Romanian flags, banners with anti-justice messages, photos of Călin Georgescu, crosses, icons, and coffins.
Some of the attendees are dressed in traditional costumes and are waving the tricolor flag.
Due to the crowd, one person felt unwell. Medical assistance was provided to them.

From the crowd, some participants made threats: "Oh, you'll see what will happen if they ban Georgescu! God help us! Many parliamentarians will burn, just dare to! But I think they dare! So if they dare this, it's over! Good people, there merciless, with sharpened axes and stuff," according to News.ro.
Additionally, one of the participants in the demonstration claims that the judges of the Constitutional Court should be "punished" for the decision they made.
"God forgive them, God forgive them, but until when should He forgive them? May God punish them severely, so they can learn from this. We don't get anywhere with forgiveness! With so much forgiveness... no. Punishment!" he said.

People participating in the protest are receiving a sheet on which they are urged to fill in, including personal data - ID card series and number, and personal identification number. It is not clear at this time who will collect these sheets and what will happen to them, according to Digi24.

The Gendarmerie announced on Thursday that the protest of Călin Georgescu's supporters at the Constitutional Court is illegal.
"It did not follow the procedure provided by law regarding public gatherings. It did not follow the procedure provided by Law no. 60/1991 (republished) on the organization and conduct of public gatherings, with subsequent amendments and completions, for the prior declaration of the public assembly, so its conduct will be outside the current legal framework," the Romanian Gendarmerie stated.
Călin Georgescu has left the country
Călin Georgescu announced that he will not attend the rally to which he called his supporters to protest against the decision of the Constitutional Court to cancel the second round of the presidential elections. He left Romania on Thursday.
The former presidential candidate stated on Thursday that he is leaving the country to file complaints with the "highest European institutions" against the CCR decision.
"My dear ones, I understand that tomorrow you will join, with faith, in the Great Legal Union of Romanians. The vote is our right that has been violated! Tomorrow, a Great Legal Union of lawyers will also become a Great Romanian Dance because no one falls out of our grand dance of conscience, we are all tightly bound by the same ideal - freedom!
Today, I will take our dance to the heart of Europe, to the highest courts. Each of us does their part in this historic mission through which we defend democracy. Alongside another legal team from the diaspora, our other Romania, starting today, I will personally go to submit legal actions to the highest European institutions.
"I'll be there, you'll be here," Georgescu transmitted on Thursday in a video message posted on Facebook.
