American real estate developer Hillwood, owned by billionaire Ross Perot Jr. (65 years old), aims to enter the industrial sector of the Romanian real estate market.
The American group is exploring the Romanian market through its division Hillwood Investment Properties, for the acquisition of land, according to sources from Profit.ro.
So far, the group has developed or acquired industrial/logistics properties with a total area of 26.2 million square meters, and the target for this year is to start projects with a total area of approximately 860,000 sqm.
The future plans of the division include logistic projects with an area of over 13 million square meters.
Ross Perot Jr. founded the real estate developer Hillwood with the help of his father, billionaire Ross Perot Sr., who passed away in 2019, having run for the U.S. presidency twice and providing him with loans from his wealth to establish his real estate empire.
Today, Ross Perot Jr. is credited by the American magazine Forbes with a wealth of 4.6 billion dollars, placing him at 739th in the list of the world's richest people.
Hillwood Investment Properties specializes in the development of distribution centers, e-commerce facilities, and logistics centers.
In 2018, Hillwood completed the Facebook data center in Texas, a billion-dollar project carried out within its giant complex AllianceTexas, located on a former pasture of nearly 11,000 hectares outside the Texan city of Fort Worth, hosting 525 companies and 61,000 employees, with an economic impact of over 100 billion dollars for North Texas.
