Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky welcomed the strong statement by American President Donald Trump regarding accelerating peace negotiations with Russia, reducing the „ultimatum” for ending the war to just 10-12 days.
Zelensky emphasized that Moscow is responsible for blocking peace efforts and highlighted the importance of international sanctions, stating that „peace through strength is possible” and that Ukraine is ready to closely collaborate with the Trump administration to end the conflict in a dignified and sustainable manner, according to Ukrinform.
Zelensky asserts that peace can be achieved through firm and resolute action, with sanctions being a key element in this regard.
"Today, President Trump made an extremely strong statement. And it is true that Russia is the one doing everything to disrupt peace efforts and prolong this war. Every night there are attacks, constantly - Russia is trying to harm Ukraine," Zelensky stated.
The Ukrainian President stressed that peace is possible, but it requires firm and resolute action.
He underscored the importance of sanctions, which he believes are a key element in achieving peace.
"Russia takes into account the sanctions, takes into account such losses. Peace through strength is possible. Ukraine, as always, is ready to collaborate with America as productively as possible, to collaborate with President Trump to end this war with dignity and lasting peace," the head of state emphasized.
At the same time, Zelensky thanked all members of Ukraine's foreign policy team working for significant relations with America.
