The storm wreaked havoc on Tuesday in Bistrița-Năsăud County, which was under a red code warning, in Iași County, under a yellow code alert, as well as in Vaslui County, all in Romania.
Approximately 240 households were affected by hail and storms in Bistrița-Năsăud County.
The damages consist of roofs partially or totally damaged, windows broken, including at the church in the village of Săsarm, several trees uprooted, and external building insulations perforated by hail.
No casualties were reported.
In Iași, several cars were damaged, and agricultural crops were destroyed in the area of Răducăneni locality, with damages caused by torrential rain and hail the size of a ping pong ball.
According to locals, the storm lasted approximately half an hour.
Also, teams from the National Roads Section Iași are intervening on DN 24, at the border with Vaslui County, Poieni, as well as on DN 28, in the Răducăneni area, to ensure traffic flow following torrential rains and water runoff on the road surface.
Iași County was under a yellow code for temporarily intensified atmospheric instability until 23:00.
Hail showers caused damage, on Tuesday evening, to agricultural crops near the city of Huși, in Vaslui County.
A hailstorm lasting only a few minutes covered the ground with a layer of ice. No casualties were reported as a result of the event, with authorities issuing weather alerts to the population.
