The Ukrainian army’s secret service (GUR) destroyed a Russian patrol boat in the Black Sea, and five crew members were killed.
The attack took place on Wednesday near the occupied town of Zaliznîi Port in the Kherson region. A laser-guided missile operated from a drone hit a Russian patrol boat, eliminating five crew members, GUR announced on Thursday morning.
The operation was filmed from a drone, and the Ukrainian army's intelligence service posted the footage on the X platform.
The Ukrainian army had previously announced the use of laser technologies to target Russian assets, as reported by the Kiev Independent, which mentioned it could not verify this information.
Zaliznîi Port, once a popular resort on the Black Sea, was occupied by Russia in 2022 and is located approximately 60 kilometers south of Kherson.
At the end of July, Ukrainian special forces destroyed Russian weaponry and personnel during a combat operation on Tendra Island off the coast of the occupied area in the Kherson region.
