A boat with Nazi flags and a portrait of Donald Trump attempted to join the boat parade organized by the Republican candidate in Florida.
The boat with swastikas was photographed trying to join the vessels at the parade organized on Sunday in Palm Beach, the Florida county where Donald Trump’s residence is located, reports Newsweek.
A spectator, Lesley Abravnel, who has 70,000 followers on X and supports Kamala Harris, posted a photo montage of this boat with Nazi flags, containing five people. "Near Palm Beach, right now. All the Nazis are Trump voters. Disgusting," she wrote.
The post had over 1.1 million views on Monday morning.
Donald Trump's niece, Mary L. Trump, a frequent critic of her uncle, shared the images on X, writing: "What the hell are we doing?"
The activist group StopAntisemitism wrote in a comment that on board were "known antisemite Jon Minadeo II" and members of GDL (Goyim Defense League), a neo-Nazi group considered by the Southern Poverty Law Center as a hate-promoting group.
According to Newsweek, Minadeo has a history of ties to the neo-Nazi movement, having been arrested in Poland for far-right propaganda at the gates of the former Nazi concentration camp at Auschwitz. The American publication mentions, however, that it has not been able to independently verify whether Minadeo or any GDL member was on board the vessel.
A user on the X platform posting under the name @majorTrulz32 and openly describing himself as a supporter of the pro-Trump MAGA movement (the acronym of Trump's 2016 campaign slogan "Make America Great Again") wrote that he participated in the Florida boat parade but denied that the people on that particular boat were neo-Nazis or Trump supporters. He claims it was a setup.
"I was at the parade today. Just like on J6 [January 6], these are not Trump supporters. They were some antifa impostors (the US Antifa anti-fascist political movement - ed.) and were treated accordingly, as you will see in the video," he wrote.
He posted a video recording of Trump supporters on another vessel revving the engine and spraying the boat with swastikas with jets of water. Those on board the boat with Nazi flags can be heard shouting "Sieg heil, heil Trump."
Newsweek has not been able to independently verify whether those on the boat with Nazi flags were Antifa members. The publication specifies, however, that the claim by user X that Antifa was behind the Capitol insurrection is false. The justice system has shown that the participants were Trump supporters.
Another user, @TemosdnaH, posted a video recording apparently taken from the boat with swastikas.
Those on board filmed themselves saying phrases combining Nazi slogans and support for Trump, such as "We must make America white again" and "Heil Trump."
