Andrew and Tristan Tate have been arrested in the United States after British prosecutors filed new charges against them. These include allegations of rape, human trafficking for sexual exploitation, and child pornography. Authorities in the United Kingdom have requested the extradition of the two, who hold dual British and American citizenship.
The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) has brought new charges after receiving a new set of evidence from the Bedfordshire Police, as reported by BBC.
Andrew Tate, accused of seven more rapes
Andrew Tate faces seven additional charges of rape, as well as other offenses related to alleged human trafficking for sexual exploitation and child pornography.
His brother, Tristan Tate, is charged with one count of sexual assault, two counts of rape, and three counts of organizing or facilitating human trafficking for sexual exploitation.
British prosecutors allege that the crimes were committed between July 2010 and August 2017. Following the new charges, the number of alleged victims in the case has reached seven, said Malcolm McHaffie, the head of the Special Crime Division at CPS.
The U.S. Marshals Service confirmed to BBC that the Tate brothers have been taken into custody, and the U.S. Department of Justice stated that the arrests were made as part of the extradition process.
Lawyer speaks of "a political attack"
CPS has stated that they have requested the extradition of the Tate brothers from the United States to the United Kingdom.
Their lawyer, Joseph McBride, has argued that the two are innocent and described the new charges as "a political attack." "The whole world knows that Andrew and Tristan are innocent. Their enemies know this better than anyone. That's precisely why they have been targeted," the lawyer stated.
He claimed that the new charges were brought to counter the defamation lawsuit filed by the Tate brothers in the United States and expressed confidence that they will be released.
Cases in the United Kingdom and Romania
This is not the first criminal case the Tate brothers have in the United Kingdom. In May 2025, prosecutors confirmed that Andrew Tate (39 years old) and Tristan Tate (37 years old) will be tried on a total of 21 charges, relating to alleged offenses committed between 2012 and 2016.
In 2024, the Bedfordshire Police obtained European arrest warrants for the two, to bring them back from Romania, where they reside and are under investigation in a criminal case.
In June of this year, the Tate brothers also lost their attempt to find out the identities of the accusers in the UK, as CPS decided that the names of the alleged victims must remain confidential until the official start of the trial.
