- The drone war enters a new stage – Serhii „Flash” Beskrestnov, an advisor to the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense, warns that the Russian army has started using Molnia drones on frequencies of 4.1-4.5 GHz, difficult to detect by most existing electronic systems. The change could reduce the effectiveness of warning devices used on the front line and forces Ukraine to quickly adapt its electronic warfare capabilities, writes Ukrinform. - The West prepares new aid – President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that Ukraine is working with the United Kingdom to develop a European alternative to the Patriot system, aimed at intercepting ballistic missiles. According to the plan discussed with Prime Minister Keir Starmer, the Ukrainian industry is expected to produce the interceptors, while European partners will provide guidance and radar systems. Meanwhile, Germany has announced an additional contribution of 300 million euros to the Czech initiative to supply Ukraine with artillery ammunition. - The EU has put together a new package of sanctions – European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen presented the elements of the 21st package of sanctions against Russia, which includes unprecedented measures: banning access to the EU for Russian military personnel, active or former combatants, and restrictions on fish imports. - The war in Ukraine equals the duration of World War I – The conflict initiated by Russia against Ukraine has surpassed a symbolic threshold: 1,567 days have already passed since the invasion on February 24, 2022, the duration of World War I. According to AFP, the war has already exceeded last year the duration of the Eastern Front in World War II. Despite huge losses on both sides, the French Ministry of Defense estimates that the situation on the front has remained relatively stable in the last six months, without major Russian advances. Meanwhile, Ukraine continues its attacks on Russian infrastructure and logistics, and the prospects for a quick end to the war remain slim, despite diplomatic initiatives and Western support for Kyiv.
