On the other hand, the partisan group Atesh announced that they sabotaged a power station in the Russian republic of Udmurtia, cutting off the power supply to a metallurgical plant.
New developments are expected in peace negotiations on Sunday, with a new round of talks between Ukraine, Russia, and the USA. For now, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sîbiha stated that he does not see the need for a separate meeting with his Russian counterpart, Sergey Lavrov.
With each passing day, the burden of war becomes heavier for both sides. The conflict has resulted in nearly two million military casualties from Russia and Ukraine, according to a study published by an American organization.
President Donald Trump, who has made peace mediation a top priority of his foreign agenda, remains confident in the chances for a ceasefire. To once again demonstrate his special relationship with Putin, he placed a photograph in the White House hallway showing him alongside the Kremlin leader.
